Those sexy fans and more chassis work

The next task was the make a small bracket to secure the expansion cards. I still hadn’t made the front by this point because I needed to finalise the design for the fans.

Walking through a local hardware store one day, I spotted a PVC object in the plumbing section and though they looked perfect for the fan shrouds. So I grabbed a couple and began to make the fans.

The inside diameter was smaller than the fans I was using, so these were put into a drill press and reduced in diameter. I also went to a radio control model shop and bought some propeller spinners - these look good on the front of the fans as you can hopefully see in the pictures.

The front section was made from 8mm plate. Rather than mounting the fans to the front or back, holes were made so the fans could appear to float where they were mounted.
